→ survived my first week of the semester. i actually haven't had all of my classes because of a faculty strike, but it was resolved quickly and it only affected my EBP/research methods class so no big deal
→ love my classes so far! neurocognitive disorders and motor speech disorders are both subjects im really interested in, so those classes are my favorite so far. we're covering how to read CT scans/MRIs in neurocog, and spectrograms in motor speech which is pretty cool. i haven't gotten a full read on my bilingual/multicultural class because it's just a once a week class, and the first class was going over cultural biases and stuff. which is important, especially for a field that's mostly cis straight white women, but it means that i'm so far removed from the dominant culture in the states that it's all stuff i know already. hard not to be aware of cultural differences when you're a minority several times over lmao
→ clinic is stressful though, and we don't even have clients yet. i spent 8 hours on thursday just writing treatment plans and developing/collecting assessment materials and i still feel like i have no idea what i'm doing. they assigned me to one of the most complex patients in the clinic too. on one hand it means they think i can handle challenging cases, but on the other it's my first time taking the lead on treatment so i'm really worried about fucking up.
