→ this week was the start of fall semester 2 electric boogaloo. well, articulation and phonological disorders class and our lab are still continuing, but now i have language disorders in children ages 5-21 replacing language disorders in children 0-5, language disorders in adults replacing neuro, and professional seminar for clinic skills replacing our misc skills professional seminar.
→ lang disorders in adults is probably going to be the most interesting, especially since i work with adults in the clinic, and in a perfect world i'd work with adults as a career (honestly the consistent hours and scheduling that working with kids gets you is so tempting.......). also the professor is one of my favorites! unfortunately i can't say the same for my lang disorders in kids class; the prof just reads off the slides and has the most boring voice, and it's at 9am so. i suffer.
→ clinic is still happening, though i found out that it closes for the semester at the end of november which is a few weeks earlier than i thought. i'm going to be back in the clinic next semester so it's not like that's it for my work in this setting, but still. i know for sure i won't be working with the other because they're not returning to the clinic next semester, so i'm hoping appointment scheduling works out so that i can still keep working with my other client. i don't want to have to build rapport and come up with new treatment plans for two new patients.
→ finals for my last set of classes went well enough i think, i'm still waiting on grades for two of them but i got 103% on neuro at least. the oral mech sim went well too; my supervisor actually had no negative feedback which was wild because i know i got flustered for part of it. i was too focused on building rapport (i forgot to do that during the hospital room sim and jumped right into medical questions, whoops) when i entered the room that i forgot to put on hand sanitizer and gloves. luckily i caught it before i started the exam, but it meant i had to get up and do it after i sat down already.
→ CAMPING THIS WEEKEND, i need it after finals last week/new classes this week. i haven't seen my friends in so long, sobs. it's gonna be fucking cold though, i hope i don't freeze lmao
